STRENGTHS
Positive Psychology − Scientific Strength Based Approaches for Health and Happiness
Do you know what your unique strengths are? How are you leveraging your talents? I help my clients increase their awareness of their strengths and inner resources for self-empowerment and growth.
Should we focus more on our strengths or weaknesses? Rather than focus on our weaknesses, research has shown that there is a greater ROI, or return on investment, when we focus on and develop our strengths.
The focus of my practice is on being StrengthsMinded®. Meaning in our work together we can identify your natural strengths. Building on your foundation of strengths, we can then look at other areas that you would like to develop further.
“Concentrate on your strengths, instead of your weakness … on your powers, instead of your problems.” — Paul J. Meyer

Neuroscience − Training for Positive Brain Plasticity and Change
When you learn how to change your brain − you learn how to change your life.
We’re living in what is considered to be the Golden Age of the brain. When we put into practice what we’re learning, we find that we can literally change, or “rewire” our brains for better living. For example research shows that people who are − or learn to become − positive tend to be happier, healthier, more effective and creative.
But how can that be? Aren’t we just “stuck” with what we have … especially all the negative “stuff”? It’s not possible to change our thoughts, feelings, or lives … is it?
Experience-Dependent Neuroplasticity shows us that we can. Our brains CAN and DO change. They are “plastic” and studies show that they are “molded” by our experiences, by what we repeatedly do.
Here’s the good news … we have more control over this than we may think. How the brain takes “shape” depends on what we focus on, it changes based on our experiences. By learning about how the brain works and using some straightforward practices we can change our brains and have a more positive life.
♦ What thoughts have taken up residence in your mind? Are they more negative or positive? ♦As the “film director” of your life, what kind of movie do you have in the works? Is it a romantic comedy? An adventure? (I hope it is one you enjoy.)
